These ties are designed with as many plant-based materials as possible in order to minimize the environmental footprint throughout the product lifecycle. This includes materials, manufacturing, supply chain, waste and packaging.

Compared to nylon zip ties, the sustainable benefits include:

>80% water reduction.
More than 85% of the material is from renewable sources.

These quick ties can be reused as long as 4-5 inches of length remain, giving it a second life for the same or another purpose.

Recyclability

Depending on local ordinances, these ties may be recycled in paper recycling together with fiber-based packaging.

When using the tie, the cut off end piece of the tie is 100% paper and can be recycled directly in paper recycling.

Compost and Biodegradability

The paper is home compostable and bio-degrades within a reasonable time.

I had a problem threading end into opening (wrap just kept unraveling). NA rep told me the ends are supposed to be specially threaded/shaped to fit into very tiny opening; they are not. They just kept unraveling and refusing to go into opening, even after trimming. I do not see how these could be reusable if they are only threaded for hole for first use (even if that worked), so that subsequent uses would just present the same problem I had. Redesign is necessary; def. not user friendly, esp. if you are doing on-site install and need to be fast.

We are trying to better understand - and learn - from your negative experience with the Quick Ties.

As we replied to you, each quick tie comes with a flattened end, to make it easier to thread into the opening of the lock piece. Once used on a larger object, you can cut the quick tie and are able to re-use it on a smaller project. We understand how the second use may be a bit more challenging without the flattened end - or if the quick tie has been partially dissolved in water.

We made a quick video to demonstrate the intended purpose and how, in these conditions, it seems to work as intended.
