Sideau AgraWool® is an environmentally conscious alternative to traditional floral foam blocks. Made from 97% basalt mineral rock fibers, this non-toxic solution provides a sustainable option for your floral arrangements. Sideau AgraWool® is crafted by spinning powdered basalt rock into fibers at high heat and binding them with a patented sugar-based agent, offering a natural and eco-friendly choice for your floral needs.

Perfect for fresh, dry, and silk flowers, Sideau AgraWool® fits seamlessly into standard floral containers and can be easily cut to size with a serrated edge knife. Its quick water absorption properties ensure that your stems stay hydrated, while its sturdy construction securely supports them.

Sideau AgraWool®'s composition of thin layers of mineral basalt fibers compressed into sheets provides stability and durability. The ribbed side of the brick offers the strongest support and water retention, making it ideal for most arrangements. The softer side of the block can be used for delicate stems, with pre-perforation recommended for ease of insertion.

As the binding material biodegrades, Sideau AgraWool® transforms into rock dust, acting as a beneficial soil amendment that's safe for the environment. While handling, those with skin sensitivity should wash their hands afterward. Personal Protective Equipment is not required for normal use.

For optimal results, follow these steps when using Sideau AgraWool®:

  1. Preparation (optional): Cut the Sideau AgraWool® to fit your floral container with a serrated edge knife.
  2. Water Absorption: Place the Sideau AgraWool® in your container and add approximately 1.5 liters of water per brick. The wool will quickly absorb the water, supporting stems in place.
  3. Orientation: Position the Sideau AgraWool® with the ribbed side facing up for optimal strength and water retention. For delicate stems, consider using the softer side.
  4. Insertion (optional): Use a skewer or pick to "pre-perforate" and protect the stems, facilitating easier insertion through the layers of Sideau AgraWool®.
  5. Disposal: After use, Sideau AgraWool® can be reused, composted in small quantities, or safely disposed of in regular landfills, contributing to a more sustainable floral industry.

Excellent water source

Excellent water source. The wool stays saturated for DAYS so if you are looking for a good foam alternative for daily arrangements to provide long term hydration, this is it. Not near as structurally sound as I would like though. Definitely needs to be used with chicken wire to hold everything in place. Also it’s difficult to pierce with weaker stems. It’s best to poke a hole with your knife in the wool before placing more delicate stems. All in all, not as easy to use as the oshun pouch, but stays hydrated longer. If I am doing weddings, I’ll use oshun, but for day-to-day arrangements the agrawool works great.

Material may be more environmental friendly. However, needs to be flower user friendly for various stem sizes.

I really wanted this product to work for us but after two unsuccessful attempts

I really wanted this product to work for us but after two unsuccessful attempts, I would like a refund. The wool breaks down so easily and doesn't seem to keep delicate stems like cosmos hydrated. My second attempt I wrapped it in chicken wire and put it on the side as I read reviews that stated it was easier to insert stems from that end--it didn't do much help.

The best out there

I've experimented with many non-foam options and THIS IS THE BEST. It ACTUALLY holds your product, and does not disintegrate when it gets wet like other brands. You are paying for quality and the results will not disappoint. 100% worth the shipping cost.

Wanted to love but not quite there yet

I had an auction gala and my centerpiece vision couldn't be done without foam. I couldn't bring myself to but regular foam, so I ordered a box of this. It worked fine as the greens were built up, though it was much more difficult to get attend in on the and than the sides - it's like it was a completely different texture. But when it came time to stick the roses in, it just wouldn't hold them. It lost structural integrity before the awful oasis would and the flowers sure of slumped in it. I probably could have made it work looks wise, but I was afraid with that much gaping between stem and foam that the flowers wouldn't get enough water over the 30 hours they needed to look good. I had to pivot and use vases with water instead, which luckily I had on hand. Unfortunately they just weren't what I had envisioned. I think some further engineering is needed to make this a great product. It might work for very very thin stemmed stuff or something with really fluffy flowers, but it just can't hold the same number of stems. Hopefully we see a new and improved version out soon, but in the meantime, I think I will have to stick with vases
